I’ve recently been experimenting with Statement Necklaces, and have found that this is one of the easiest and inexpensive ways to step up your sense of style. I’ve found many different pieces, of varying length, size and type at stores such as Forever XXI, The Limited, Target and Banana Republic.
In order to incorporate these necklaces, I keep the clothes very simple. A blazer, tank and a pair of dark, tailored jeans and heels. Or just a t-shirt, jeans (white or dark), and a pair of metallic sandals would look fabulous with this necklace. That’s what I love — clothes I already own, but making it a statement with the right accessory.

In all honesty, the trends never bother me because they are just that, a trend. They are fleeting and never really have any staying power. For example, people have asked me recently about the maxi dresses. This, we can thank Nicole Richie for, but in general, I know that they will be out once the summer is over . Plus, they have already saturated the market as you can find them at Cavalli to Forever XXI.
I understand the appeal behind these long dresses, but they really don’t have much shape to them and you usually have to be pretty tall to pull them off. Furthermore, it’s a very young look and doesn’t really provide much support, (or room for a bra), up top! This is one trend I would avoid this summer.

This is where I will share my thoughts, and of course, welcome your feedback on everything and anything related to style. It could be Michelle Obama and her J.Crew cardigans, or the subject of wearing North Face fleeces out to dinner…whatever! And, of course, I will post photos of a walking fashion faux pas or two. Enjoy and check back soon!
